Rfid Based Automatic Door Locking System Project

So we decided to test a simple and cheap prototype to see if such a robust system could be developed using the tool of our choice arduino uno.

You are given a card and you just need to put it in front of a rfid reader box and the lock gets unlocked with a beep and a blink of led. An rfid based door lock with cyclops as display. In countries like india such automatic systems are not cheap by any yardstick. This allows the user to lock unlock his home s door lock by using a smartphone from anywhere in the world. It s very important to authenticate the user before entering into a secure space and rfid provide this solution. It was an interesting project which required beginner s level skill in programming and very easy to connect circuit.

The automatic door lock system circuit diagram using an arduino is shown below. The cyclops eyes will turn red on wrong rfid tag and green on authorized rfid tag. We store a set of rfid card data in our system say 3 or 10 rfid card data. This circuit is mainly used for an interfacing of rfid reader with an arduino. Just thought of making a password based door lock system in which you can enter the password via the keypad. A digital door locking system is also implemented and governed by rfid reader which authenticate and validate the user and open the door automatically. It also keeps the record of check in and check out of the user.

So in this project we are going to make an iot based door lock system using nodemcu solenoid lock and adafruit io. When the person with the right rfid card compatible to data preloaded in our program system come and swipes his rfid tag access will be granted. An rfid based door lock is based on some simple concepts. The circuit of this project uses three separate parts namely a reader a controller and door lock.

This project can be enhanced by connecting an lcd display to display the outputs. You have seen rfid door lock mechanism in some hotels and other places where you don t need a key to unlock the room. This rfid door lock can be made easily at your home and you can install it in any door. First the user combination will be compared with prerecorded password which are stored in the system memory.

This automatic password based lock system will give user more secure way of locking unlocking system.
